At Gurwin, we are committed to providing compassionate, dignified care for every resident throughout the natural course of life. Guided by our mission and Jewish ethics, tradition and lifestyle honoring the sanctity of life, we have chosen not to participate in Medical Aid in Dying (“MAID”) activities at our facilities.
We remain dedicated to supporting our residents and families with high-quality palliative care, hospice services, pain management, and emotional, spiritual and psychosocial support. A resident’s inquiry about MAID will never affect the quality of care they receive from us.
A resident or patient who wishes to pursue MAID outside of our Gurwin facilities or programs may request assistance with transferring them to another healthcare provider or setting. For more information about our policy or end-of-life care options, please contact our Administrator.
