The annual Gurwin Celebration Gala is a major fundraising event hosted by the Gurwin Jewish Healthcare Foundation each year to support the many programs and services offered by the Gurwin Healthcare System to hundreds of frail, elderly and medically complex older adults each day. This year’s Gala is scheduled for November 21, 2024 at The Royalton on the Greens in Melville, NY.
2024 Gurwin Gala Honorees:
- Besser Rooms, for their dedication to creating the innovative Gurwin Immersion Room for residents on the Memory Care Unit, inspired by their personal experience with their parents’ Alzheimer’s diagnoses.
- The Gurwin Therapeutic Recreation Department, honored with the 2024 Joseph Gurwin Award for their incredible contributions to enhancing the quality of life for our residents.

An exciting feature of our 2024 Gala is the Gurwin Immersion Room, which has been named 2024 Best-in-Show and Gold award winner in the 2024 McKnight’s Tech Awards, and was recently featured on CBS news!
Gala guests will have the opportunity experience first-hand the same interactive environments that bring joy and therapeutic benefits to our residents diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias. Whether you’re in the mood for an exhilarating roller coaster ride or prefer to sit back and watch a peaceful snowfall, these immersive experiences will transport you to another world -—just as they do for our residents!
Beyond the fun, our annual Gala is about making a difference. We need your help to continue providing these enriching experiences, and create new ones. Our goal is to expand our patient-centric programming to residents of Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner Residences assisted living with their own customized Immersion Room.
